Introduction
Students will capture the unique characteristics of a specific, noxious weed visually and verbally by creating weed notecards. Using a realistic style, students will illustrate a weed and color the illustration. Students will write a simple poem that highlights distinguishing characteristics of the weed. Students will market their drawings and poems. Before teaching this lesson, read the entire lesson and make sure all materials are available.

Introduction
Once students learn about the seriousness posed by noxious weeds, they often want to become involved in weed-related projects. Students will work in cooperation with a government agency to physically remove and destroy weeds in a specified area. For effective, meaningful, student involvement, take time to plan the Activity. Before teaching this lesson, read the entire lesson, plan the project, develop a grading rubric, make sure all materials are available, and address all details of the project.

Students can make a significant, positive impact toward controlling noxious weeds by educating the public about weeds. Students will focus on developing ideas to create a marketable product and design a presentation that increases public awareness of noxious weeds. Students will implement one or more of their ideas. Before teaching this lesson, read the entire lesson and keep in mind projects that are suitable for the amount of time available, ability of students, and how much students know about noxious weeds.
